On The Way to The Grand Canyon

09 April 2013 —

After crashing for the night at my good friend Justin's house in Loma Linda, CA we headed towards the Grand Canyon. Us, being us, had a late start. Plus we were in a warm house and knew we were headed towards camping. Plus Justin (and his fiance Betsy who came over to visit) are the quality type of people you just don't want to leave. They're the type of people that make Aaron ask why I can't have more friends like that. They're really just great ( in case you didn't get that ;). Anyways we finally tore ourselves away from Loma Linda and headed towards the Grand Canyon. We both wanted to see Vegas so we drove through, woohoo..super not that exciting. Then when we were leaving Vegas we kept seeing signs for the Hoover Dam and we were like..I think that 's important so we should probably go. I did a little googling and found out it is relatively important and monumental. Also it's super pretty! win win. Since we got such a late start we ended up camping just down the road from it on this lake that's pictured (with me and my cup of oatmeal) below. Theeeen the next morning we finally headed towards the Grand Canyon for real. Except that when we looked at the map we realized we were only like an hour out of the way of stopping at the four corners which is something Aaron had always wanted to go to, and so we did. also super not that exciting. Good grief, i'm finally finished writing about the process of getting to the Grand Canyon. For such boring states there sure was a lot to say. Also I just want to point out that these pictures make Nevada and Arizona look decievingly pretty. They're so not.
